Crockett's Over for Dinner

Work & Play
Instead of watching "The Outer Limits" last night like I normally do on Saturdays, I flipped over to Austin City Limits, and got caught up watching that. There was this funky, weird, psycho group playing called the "Polyphonic Spree." I don't even know how to describe them, they were so weird. Wearing these brightly colored robe/gown type things. The music was even weirder...they had a 6 or 7 member choir that was just messed up. The thing that kept popping into my head was "these guys must be doing acid." So weird. The show was split between two groups this time for some reason, and I thought, "well if the first group is that weird, I have GOT to see what the second group is. The second was actually pretty cool, a group called Ozomatli that was an interesting blend of cultures. White guys, black guys, hispanics and an asian. I liked their sound, too...kind of a latin rock blend with hip hop. Pretty good stuff. I will have to keep an eye out for their songs, maybe download a couple.

Stopped by the Slack's right after church to check out a computer hutch that they are looking to get rid of. I can't recall the exact reason why, but I do know that they are looking to replace it with something else. When Munsey described to us what he was thinking about, we offered our desk, thinking it might be what he wants. So we may wind up doing a desk swap or something, we'll see. The hutch they have would work good for us because it would allow us to close the computer up when the boys are playing in the office without supervision. Kelson just can't leave the thing alone when he is in front of it. It would also help the room look a little less "office" and more "bonusey."

Speaking of the addition, the weather didn't cooperate much this weekend. There were showers off and on during the day on Saturday, and then it rained some that night, too. So, the ground isn't drying very quickly, and it looks like that after our 73 and sunny weather that we are supposed to have tomorrow, we will be having 40 degree with chance of showers the rest of the week. It may be months before we get this thing done. Frustrating.

We had Brad and Danny Crockett over for lunch since mom is out of town and they are new to the ward. They have a 2 year old named Cody also. He took a bit to warm up, but after about an hour or so he was playing with the boys. The Crockett's are pretty cool. She served her mission in Charlotte, and actually served in our ward for a while, which was part of the reason that they picked Greensboro to move to. Brad sells invisible teeth brackets (instead of using braces) to dentist's offices. Really nice people though, and we seemed to get along pretty well with them. Shena and Danny are going to take the boys to the park this afternoon since it is going to be so nice. I'm sure we will be doing more things with them another time.

Llano Update (Cheeto's Brood)
Cade had the opening prayer in Primary today. Shena and I just stood in the back and he did it by himself. We the only words we heard were "Heavenly Father" and "Amen" because he was whispering the prayer into the microphone. But he did try and he did do it on his own, so that was a proud moment for us.

Both boys were pretty good while the Crockett's were over. They were pretty wild, excited to have a little play buddy over, even though Cody didn't want to play at first. Cade was so excited to show Cody his toys, and he was running around like a maniac. Pretty funny. After they left, Cade and Kelson wanted to sit outside for some reason. We put them on the deck wrapped up in blankets (it was kind of cool in the shade), and they just looked at the trees and birds and mud. Kelson still can't get over the mess outside. He acts like it is the first time he's seen it every time he looks out there. "Ooooh...Mess! Mud!"

Arellano Update
Shena talked to mom for a bit today. She said She was headed to San Diego tonight to see Adam & Melissa. I think Lettie had to go back to Poky from Las Vegas. So it's just mom, now.

Christensen Update
Shena said that her dad woke up this morning to use the bathroom and thought he heard water running somewhere. Walked down to their basement and put his foot in water to his ankle at the bottom of the stairs. I guess a pressure valve broke on their water heater and got water in most of their basement. They had to skip church to try to clean it up. Said they pumped over 350 gallons of water out of there. Sad thing is the opposite end of the basement just flooded a little over a year ago, and they had to put new carpet down in Ryan and Alyssa's room. I think the water was just starting into Alyssa's room when Bart caught it, but some of it got into Ryan's. Not sure what will happen now.

Daily Report
LAST NIGHT:
Sleep: 1:00 - 7:15 & 7:30 - 8:00 - I tried to get up at 7:15, came out, talked to Shena for a second and was headed to get in the shower, when I decided that I was a little cold, so I thought I might get back into bed for a few minutes to warm up. Bad idea. I'm not sure at what point I fell back asleep, but Shena was surprised to find me asleep again.

TODAY:
Breakfast: None

Lunch: Burritos (beans, meat, sour cream, cheese, salsa, lettuce) & mexican rice, kool-aid - had banana splits for dessert

Dinner: bowl of frosted mini-wheats - had the last piece of apple pie and milk just before I wrote this.
