What an Eventful Day!

WOW! Today was crazy. Biggest news of the day.... ANALISE CUT HER FIRST TOOTH!!!!! We have been waiting and waiting for this day! She is miserable of course, running a fever and stuffy. But we are all so excited! She has been wanting to eat our food for months now.

I substituted for Cade's primary class. Ed Plummer, his previous teacher, had told me before that the class could be challenging. I went in and told the kids I can be fun or I can be mean. It all depends on your behavior. Cade says, "YES! She can be mean!" We had a good lesson. I really enjoyed it. It was on the Holy Ghost and I love teaching about the Holy Ghost! We had lots of good discussions.
We found out after church that Lettie went to the hospital for kidney stones at 6am. She was released about 2:00ish. She will be lying around for a couple of days at least. We tried to leave them alone today to give her some quiet over there. Kinda weird not spending some time at mom and dad's on a Sunday. Today was also Mom's 61st birthday. We ate Fast Sunday dinner at Yow's and had cake and ice cream. What a birthday for her to remember - spending all morning in a hospital waiting room.

FHE @ Firestation #41

Cade in the Driver's Seat. Brother Alton, a friend in the ward, drives this engine. The kids were so excited and thrilled to be inside a fire truck.
Kelson's turn driving.
This is where the Captain sits.
Of course, Analise insisted on getting her turn.
Cade, Kelson, Analise, Luke, and Max on the back of the truck.

Analise would run around the truck looking at her reflection in the bumpers. Poor girl, she couldn't see anything else.

I'm not mad at the Trash Man!

Friday night we had a ward dance. Cheeto did the music for the entire evening. My first thought was, "So, 10 years later, not much has changed! I'm with the DJ, again." Everyone had commented on what a good job Cheeto did. One sister came up to me and said, "We must have missed all the good music." :) It was quite funny! The evening allowed the kids to play around the gym with balloons and such. They had a tray of veggies for refreshments. Kelson wanted a plate of just carrots. I sat him at a table with his carrots and went to find Analise's shoes and coat. Next thing I know, Kelson is running towards me just screaming and pointing to Brother Holshouser, "THAT MAN threw my carrots in the garbage." He asked if I would get them back. I asked Brother Holshouser if he threw some carrots away. He had. He felt so bad and apologized many times to Kelson. Kelson just shyed away. Well, we passed them later in the parking lot. Kelson's door was open and Brother Holshouser walked passed and apologized again and gave Kelson a high five. As we were pulling out of the parking lot Kelson says, "Mom, that trash man is kinda nice." Kelson has referred to him as the "trash man" all weekend.

I WANT JUNK FOOD!

Cade got the flu Friday night and spent the weekend recovering. Cheeto and I did about the same. Knock on wood.... but no one else is showing signs of sickness. Today Cade woke up saying he was just too sick still and didn't think he would be able to go to school Monday. We just said, "Let's just see how today goes, and we'll make that decision on Monday morning." We all stayed home from church just to be on the safe side. Sure enough, by 11:00am, Cade was perking right up. Cade was asking for treats and junk food. I told him junk food probably wasn't the best for him quite yet. A while later he asked if fruit snacks were junk food. I don't think I really answered the question, but I told him he could have one. Kelson then comes running down the hall, "MOM- I WANT JUNK FOOD! I WANT JUNK FOOD!" I just laughed out loud. Of course he got one too!
Tomorrow brings us a busy day of dentist appointments for all of us that have teeth. Poor Analise! I'm starting to stress about Tuesday. I'm going back in to get the stent taken out. I'm nervous, especially after my last experience. I expressed this to Cheeto and his reply was, "Don't stress. We could get in a bad car accident on the way to the hospital." Like that helped! We shall see what the next couple of days bring. I don't have time for things to get more complicated. I have the Relief Society Birthday Celebration to finish preparing for in a week. Just pray that things will go smoothly!

Cade's new thing is to climb his tree.
He gets up there all by himself and just looks down at Kelson. He just chills there.
To think that tree was planted when he was born and only a foot tall.
I just thought this was a sweet picture. Cheeto was standing close... but she was sitting up there all by herself. The boys thought she was hot stuff!

Grandpa... I just love my new swing! Analise had so much fun out there with the boys. I think she thought she was finally playing with the boys. It was definitely easier to play with the boys having her in the swing. Mommy is really going to like having a swing for her outside!

Cade's 1st Sleepover

Lindsey Thurman, Cade, Kelson, and Hayden Witbeck pitched a tent and watched "CARS" in the office last Friday night. It worked out perfect. The kids were content in the office which allowed the adults to watch what we wanted in the living room.
